The flag of Andalusia (Spanish: Andalucía, Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía), an autonomous community of Spain is a horizontal triband of green, white, and green with the community emblem in the centre.

The flag has an unofficial name la Arbonaida or la Arbondaira, which means "white-green" in Aljamiado language.

Symbolism[]

La bandera blanca y verde

History[]

The flag of Andalusia (as well as its coat of arms and anthem) was adopted in an assembly of the Leberalist Union of Andalusia at Ronda in 1918. The design was proposed by Blas Infante, known as the father of the Andalusian Fatherland. The Green referred to the Caliphate of Cordoba and the white referred to the Almohade Empire.

After the Civil was and during General Franco's dictatorship the local flags were abolished. The flag was readopted in 1983.
