Flag of Barbados
Adopted November 30, 1966 [1]
Designed by Grantley W. Prescod [2]
Proportions 2:3 [1]

The flag of Barbados is a blue-gold-blue euqal vertical tricolour. In the centre of the flag and the yellow stripe is a black stylized broken trident.

Blue represents the Caribbean Sea and the sky, and gold represents the sand on the Barbadian beaches. The trident symbol represents Neptune, the "sea god" of Greek mythology. It is broken to symbolize Barbados's independence from Great Britain. [3]
