Georgia (United States)
Adopted May 8, 2003 [1]
Designed by Georgia General Assembly? [2]
Proportions 2:3 [3]

The flag of Georgia, America, has three equal horizontal stripes alternating red and white, with a blue canton the length and width of the total idth of two stripes. In the center of the canton in gold is a stylized representation of the elements inside the state seal of Georgia, including the words "IN GOD WE TRUST" in gold lettering undermeath the archway. Equally spaced, circling the archway and motto, are thirteen white five-pointed stars pointing outwards.

The design is similar to the Confederate "Stars and Bars" flag, and the red, white, and blue are taken from the flag of the United States. The archway and motto represent Georgia. The thirteen stars in a circle represent the original 13 colonies of the United States, of which Georgia was the fourth.
