Flag of Jamaica
Adopted August 6, 1962 [1]
Designed by Jamaican House of Representatives [2]
Proportions 1:2 [3]

The flag of Jamaica is a saltire design with a yellow saltire, green upper and lower triangles, and black left and right triangles.

The green, gold, and black are colours of Africa, of which many Jamaicans' ancestors came from. Black represents the hardship of the Jamaicans struggling for independence, green represents the land of Jamaica, and gold represents the sun.
