The flag of Louisiana is blue with the emblem from the state seal of Louisiana, a mother pelican feeding its young, just above the center of the flag. Below this emblem is a stylized white banner with the words "Union, Justice, and Confidence" in blue lettering.


The emblem is taken from the Louisiana state seal. "Union, Justice, and Confidence" is the state motto of Louisiana. Blue represents truth. [3]
