The flag of Malaysia consists of fourteen equal horizontal stripes alternating red and white from the top. A blue canton with a golden fourteen-pointed star and crescent is the height of eight of the stripes.

The star and crescent is a symbol of Islam. The blue colour represents unity. The number 14 on the star and stripes represents the fourteen Malaysian states. [3]
