The flag of Moscow Oblast, Russia, is a red rectangle with width/length proportions 2:3, with the figure of the oblast coat of arms: St. George, in white armours and blue cloak, riding a white horse, and striking with a golden lance a yellow dragon. The width of the figure is 1/5 of the flag length.[2]

SymbolismEdit

The flag is based on the coat of arms of Moskovskoye General-Gubernatorstvo (Moscow General Governorate) of the Russian Empire adopted in 1856.
