Flag of Oregon
Adopted 1925
Designed by Oregon Legislature
Proportions 3:5 [1]
Reverse design

The flag of Oregon is blue with a gold stylized version of the Oregon state coat of arms in the center of the flag, with the words "STATE OF OREGON" in gold lettering above the coat of arms, and the year "1859" in gold lettering below the coat of arms. On the reverse side of the flag, a gold stylized beaver is in the center of a blue field. [2] Oregon is the only state in the United States to have different designs on each side of the flag.

The coat of arms and "STATE OF OREGON" both represent Oregon. 1859 was the year Oregon was admitted as the 33rd state of the United States. [3] This is also represented by the 33 five-pointed stars surrounding the shield. [4] The beaver represents Oregon's nickname, "The Beaver State".
