The flag of Qatar is a vertical bicolour of white and Qatar Maroon. The border between the two divisions is between the hoist and the center, and nonuple serrated.

- The near-black colour on the flag was originally maroon, but the local dyes used for the flag faded so dark that the colour was later officially changed. [2]
