The flag of Samoa is red with a blue canton containing a white stylized Southern Cross in its centre. The five stars in the Southern Cross emblem are five-pointed.

Red represents valour, blue represents freedom, and white represents purity. [3] The Southern Cross is a common symbol for flags in the Southern Hemisphere.

The current flag of Samoa was based on the previous flag design(s) of Western Samoa. The first design had only four stars in the South Cross emblem. [4]
