The flag of Slovenia is an equal horizontal tricolour or white, blue, and red. The Slovenian coat of arms is placed in the canton of the flag.

White, blue, and red, are Pan-Slavic colours, and the coat of arms represents the nation of Slovenia. It is also used to distinguish the flag from that of Russia.

The coat of arms of Slovenia is located in the canton of the national flag. The three golden stars represent Slovenian independence. The wavy stripes represent the country's rivers entering the Adriatic Sea. The mountains represent the many Slovenian mountainous regions.
