The flag of Tver Oblast is vertically divided yellow-red-yellow (1:2:1) with the emblem of the region in the middle of the red stripe. The emblem is described as "gules a throne or with a cushion vert on which is the cap of Monomakh".[3]

SymbolismEdit

"The cap of Monomakh" (the crown of the tsars) symbolizes former importance of the Tver Prinicipality, and the fact that the prince of Tver was the first to adopt the title of Tsar.[4]
