The flag of Zabaykalsky Kray, Russia, consists of two equal horizontal bands, green (upper), and red, with a yellow equilateral triangle at the hoist side. The flag aspect ratio is 2:3.

The current flag was adopted on December 22, 1995 by Chitinskaya Oblast. After the oblast merged with Aginskiy Buryatskiy Autonomous Okrug into Zabaykalskiy Kray, it was adopted as kray flag on February 11, 2009.[1]

SymbolismEdit

  • Yellow stands for boundless steppe.
  • Green stands for taiga, and for abundant flora and fauna.
  • Red stands for subsoils reach of fossil fuel.
